Calling it The New Sale of the Century. It all starts with 20......temptation dollars like the original Sale. Instead of the usual, it starts with a 30-second speed round. Then came the instant bargains....but instead of "Going Once..." and those Sale surprises, a 5-second clock was used to buy the item.


Next came the Fame Game. Instead of stars...or something behind a number......

Next is the Knock off round which reminds me of......

Then after an instant bargain. Also another speed round, but it reminds me of.......

Then came Instant cash which was from the NBC version of Sale. After which, the final lightning race for 10 temptation dollars to see who would go on to shopper's paradise and play Super Knock off to build up the score. The only problem was instead of getting every single prize, you had to get just one. Just one. Darn it. Only lasted one season, thank goodness, but is Sale better than Temptation? That's your buzzr beater question and you get 2 weeks to decide.

After Courtney Cox did Friends, Based on the board game Identity Crisis (created by Laura Robinson and Richard Gerrits), the series was developed by Courteney Cox and David Arquette's Coquette Productions, and was originally pitched as a primetime series for CBS with Craig Ferguson as host. That became Celebrity Name Game. More on that once I return.

So who was the better host of It's News to me? Guess we'll tell you John Charles Daly did it. I'll give you another one after I tell you about Celebrity Name Game.

To play the game, you must have a friend and 2 stars to back you up. Each name pertains to a category in 2 rounds and each one is worth points. After those 2 rounds, Craig will read clues to a well known celebrity and the first to buzz in gets $200, $300 and so on until one team reaches $3000 to make it to the bonus round. 

In that round, you get 10 names, and while your partner is offstage, you have to give 45 seconds and when your partner is back out, it's 30 seconds all for $20,000!

All I wanted to ask was which show will you see on Fridays and Karn Feud turned out to be the clear winner. We'll give you another question after we take a field trip to a local supermarket.

Supermarket Sweep had one host. Yes, one host: David Ruprecht. Based on the ABC game back in the late sixties, 3 teams of 2 competed in a variety of shopping games including the round robin, to build up sweep time to use later. After this, they switched clothes and based on the position they used in the front game, the teams let loose and shopped as fast as possible until time ran out. Highest totaled team had to look for 3 items for a $5000 prize purse. Very simple and it's becoming a favorite to fans.

The object of the game was for the four celebrity panelists to "make the connection" between two people who would sit on both sides of the host. Each time a panelist failed to make the connection within 30 seconds, the contestant earned $25. The game ended after a panelist guessed the connection or the guest earned $150. Like many of its sister panel shows, it also featured the obligatory appearance by a celebrity guest, who would play the game as a contestant.


With Borden being a sponsor, Jim McKay was the first host, but Gene Rayburn took it to the end. It only ran for 4 months, so that's Make The Connection.

Word Play had Peter Tomarken host the pilot, but instead picked Tom Kennedy to host it. 3 celebrities define odd and unusual words and 2 cilvians try and pick which word is real for money. Better yet, every word connected to it gives you more.


Most money gets to play DOuble Definitions where 2 short definitions to one word is connected for a progressive jackpot. Oh and by the way, the bonus word gives you a nice vacation.
